Alex, Laura and I have been working on a dance that creates experience – for both dancers and viewers.

In just over a week, Alex and Laura arrive to start making a new dance with me.
2016 wild goose chase/the landing
I just heard the first goose of the season over the estuary early yesterday morning. Once again with the support of the village of Columbia Falls, I am able to dive headlong into what I love: making and sharing dance.

Laura will dance Pale Moon on Saturday evening as part of the Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society’s benefit concert for the AIDS Outreach Center of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. If you cannot come, consider making a donation. All Box Office proceeds and other donations go directly to the AOC.

There are four professional companies on this concert – all with exciting work to offer. In addition to wild goose chase dance, Nymbal – new ballet, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance and Out on a Limb. There are also three quite refined works by TCU School for Classical & Contemporary Dance graduating seniors – all very different! These three works will represent the SCCD at the South Central Conference of the American College Dance Association in March. ‘Twill be a great show!

Thanks to Maureen Janson Heintz for this photo of Collette during dress rehearsal. It so beautifully captures the way Collette has drawn this moment.

Thanks, too, to Jim Vogel for the otherworldly lighting design.
Collette performed Berceuse last night at the Gates of Heaven (really!) in “One: an evening of solos” – a concert that Liz Sexe produced in Madison. She wrote to say that there are no pictures yet but Ruthie is working on it. . . .
